Stephen Keith

Bio

Stephen Keith is an independent musician, drummer, and percussionist whose passion for rhythm and live performance has shaped a dynamic career in music. Born in Dayton, Ohio, and now based in Nashville, Tennessee, Stephen began playing drums at a young age in church, where his natural connection to music quickly became impossible to ignore. It was clear early on that music would become more than a hobby—it would become his life’s calling.

Recognizing both his talent and dedication, Stephen’s mother played a pivotal role in nurturing his gift. By exposing him to a variety of musical environments and performance settings, she helped cultivate not only his musicianship, but also his versatility. Those early experiences laid the foundation for his ability to move seamlessly between genres while developing the discipline of reading music and mastering the demands of professional performance.

As his reputation grew within the local music community, Stephen became known for his adaptability, consistency, and groove—qualities that allowed him to hold multiple drum chairs and work across a wide range of musical styles. Before relocating to Nashville in 2014, he got his first real taste of life on the road touring with Michael Locke and the Repeat Offenders, an Ohio-based blues band that traveled throughout the tri-state area. That experience sparked a deep love for touring and solidified his desire to pursue music at the highest level.

After moving to Nashville, Stephen committed himself fully to the grind of the music industry, building meaningful relationships and earning opportunities through hard work, professionalism, and persistence. Over the years, he has toured and performed alongside artists including Eric Paslay, Lindsay Ell, and Tanner Adell. He is currently supporting Kelly Clarkson during her Las Vegas residencies, marking the biggest artist-supporting role of his career to date.

Despite the accomplishments and growing list of credits, Stephen remains grounded in faith, gratitude, and purpose. Guided by the mindset of staying “in the will, and out the way,” he continues to approach every opportunity, challenge, and lesson with humility and appreciation. Through every stage of his journey, Stephen Keith has remained committed to growth, authenticity, and the love of music that first began behind a drum kit in church many years ago.
