The 409 Series professional mandolin machine heads are the latest in technology and beautifully designed to complement any style mandolin. A specially engineered, adjustable worm gear and die-cast plate maintain the center lines of the gear and worm to insure correct alignment for the finest tuning possible. The Vintage style tuners have a reversed “worm under” arrangement (worm gear below the post gear) for vintage or retro instruments using that configuration.
