Mitch Swanger

Bio

From the age of two, music has been at the center of his life. Long before he could fully walk, Mitch Swanger was sitting on his father’s knee behind a drum kit, immersed in the sounds of classic rock legends such as The Beatles, Led Zeppelin, Queen, and The Moody Blues. What began as childhood fascination quickly evolved into a lifelong passion for rhythm, performance, and musical expression.

At age 12, everything changed when he first heard Moving Pictures by Rush. The technical brilliance, creativity, and musicianship—particularly the drumming of Neil Peart—inspired him in a way no music ever had before. At that moment, he knew he wanted to pursue drumming professionally. That realization sparked a relentless commitment to developing his craft and building a career in music.

In 2010, Mitch co-founded Silent Theory in his hometown of Moscow, Idaho. Through years of recording, touring, and performing, the band has earned a reputation for delivering powerful, high-energy performances grounded in technical precision and musicianship. His approach to drumming combines discipline, creativity, and passion, allowing him to connect with audiences both on stage and in the studio.

Throughout Mitch’s career, he has amassed more than 209 million YouTube views and over 92 million Spotify streams. Silent Theory has charted ten songs on radio, with four tracks added to SiriusXM Octane, and has performed at ten major festivals while completing multiple national tours as both a headlining and direct-support act. Most recently, their song “Fragile Minds” received A2IM Two-Star Certification from Luminate.

As an artist, Mitch remains committed to continuous growth and evolution. Whether performing live, recording in the studio, or developing new material, he strives to bring professionalism, authenticity, and intensity to every project. Looking ahead, Silent Theory will enter the studio with Morgan Rose of Sevendust to write and record new material, followed by the release of a new album and a national tour.
